Smelly Toufu

Once again, I can't fall asleep. I have no idea why. I'm pretty sure I had an early wake up call from JJ today at 11am. Lolz. I call that early cos I'd normally wake up 5am in the morning to prepare breakfast and lunch for takeaway and then sleep back at around 7am and then wake up again at 2pm. That had been pretty much my weekdays life these few days. I guess I'd been standardized by my biological clock to think that 11am is early.

KL trip this time has really opened up my eyes about KL. When I was here previously by myself and my family members, the only place that I knew the name of was MidValley which I went by KTM from Nilai with my badminton team, Times Square+Sungei Wang+Bukit Bintang which I went by monorail led by my sister which I had no idea about the routes and then Puchong+Cheras+USJ which my bro brought us by car and I could barely recognise the street.

One week here, I know how to get to Times Square+Sungei Wang+Bukit Bintang by LRT from the place I'm staying now and transit by monorail. I also know how to walk on foot to those places and I found out that if you're not tired and lazy, monorail is a waste of money! Lolz. If you wanna go to Times Square and after that Sungei Wang, skip the monorail and save RM1.20. Travel on foot. The best thing is you won't even have to sweat! Well, unless if it's a hot day and you, like every other KL people (or at least those who migrated there) don't use any umbrella, you'll sweat at least a bit. I know how to get to Serdang and I've been to a pasar malam at Cheras apart from Petaling Street. Oh yea, did I tell you that I tried Taufu Busuk aka Chao Taufu aka Smelly Toufu? It was a great experience but after smelling it from afar for a long time, I'll get really dizzy. Eating it isn't a big task at all! We were given pickles which were more like Kimchi and pepper sauce which covered the taste of sourness of the toufu. It wasn't really sour though. Maybe I have yet to try smellier ones.

Coming to KL, instead of succumb to the culture here of not bringing any umbrella and rely fully on sunblock, I'd rather save the hassle of using a sunblock cos I didn't bring any and at the same time save the money to buy it, I bring an umbrella everywhere I go. The trick is to bring the small one and stuff it inside my handbag or JJ's bag.

I've been to Suria KLCC too but I haven't been on the bridge. Need to be determined to be on that mission as I would have to wait as early as 6.30am to be the first few to get the chance to view KL on top of that bridge. The tix are free but limited. The counter opens at 8.30am. But since it's a tourist attraction and KL is full of tourists, I don't think the line would be short.

Rude Warnings:
#1 You see queues at the monorail door, it's just for show, someone from somewhere will overtake you and just barge in without caring about those who wanna go out. Calling them pig-headed would've insulted the pigs. If people don't go out, how can you fit in when the monorail is already like canned sardines?

#2 When people bump on you, instead of saying "Sorry", they'll say "Oh my god". I guess "Ohmygod" has to be a word somewhere in the Oxford dictionary which means "Sorry". Gotta go check it out.

#3 When you tell the taxi driver (not all) where you wanna go and they don't go there, they'll just look away and drive away without even saying "No" nor shaking their heads nor giving any signs at all. I guess they must've been in a rush or something and skipped the manner part.

Mannered Warnings:
#1 Those selling pirated dvds are mannered

#2 Pasar malam at Cheras' salesmen are mannered

#3 Security guards at Cheras are mannered

Why do I emphasise on Cheras alone? 'Cos I live here. But where? That shall remain a secret. I'll be here for a month or so. I'll be leaving this monorail life very soon cos I'll move to Rawang in a week time. Before that I'll go to Perak with my friend staying at her place. She wants to bring us visiting. Who's us? JJ & I.

Done Checklist:

#2 Went to Cosmo World and had the ride of my life. I mean MY LIFE! Scared till I was saying "Oh my God" which I was pretty sure that it did not mean "Sorry".
